The £1.4 million regeneration of Chatham Railway Station started at the end of 2018.
The works are jointly funded by Medway Council with a Local Growth Fund grant and Network Rail, via its National Station Improvement Programme, and are set to improve links between the station area and the town centre. The makeover will focus on the forecourt and the remodelling of the roads around it.
The project includes the installation of public art, is part of the council’s placemaking initiative to improve connectivity between the main transport and commercial centres in Chatham, as well as improving passenger experiences via investments in public spaces around the station.
Completion is scheduled by the end of spring.
